Dr Gavin Jarvis

Dr Gavin Jarvis is Senior Lecturer in Pharmacology at the University of Sunderland, and a qualified veterinary surgeon (non-practising).
He has over 30 years of experience teaching pharmacology to medical, veterinary, pharmacy and science students, and a long-standing academic interest in drug actions, particularly those affecting platelets, having previously worked as a research pharmacologist at AstraZeneca on the project that discovered the anti-platelet drugs ticagrelor and cangrelor.
